Collection Development
Activities
As a selector, I perform the following collection development activities to build relevant collections supporting the School of English and Liberal Studies, School of Arts & Science, and English Language Institute:
- Selecting & weeding of materials based on collection development policy and in consultation with faculty
- Evaluating and analyzing liaison area collections for usage and relevance
- Connecting with faculty, students, and staff to promote library collections
- Updating subject guides with new additions to liaison area collections
- Budgeting allotted funds to ensure that they are effectively spent
- Consulting relevant publications and other resources for material reviews and collection development trends
- Organizing and tracking collection notes and activities on internal staff guide
